Untitiled

Caocao is one of the most famous figures in Chinese history. However, he is also argued most by posterity. Someone said he is a crafty and evil person; someone said he is a brilliant and great hero. Someone hates him; someone admires him. Why? Most people know him from the novel called Sanguoyanyi. After all, it is a novel, though a novel based on history. It is said that 70% of this novel is false and 30% of it is true. So the image of him we know is probably very different from the history.
He was born at the end of Han Dynasty when China suffered many wars between leaders of different states. He was one of them. Several years later, he unified northern China and built a nation called Wei. Meanwhile, southern China is taken over by two powerful nations called Wu and Shu. In other words, China was separated by three nations and all of them wanted to defeat the other two and unify China as a great Empire. What is fun is that all of them used the slogan that rebuilding the Han Empire which was not existed in fact to fool his people to follow them. But the writer of Sanguoyanyi took the stand of Shu while Wu was the ally of Shu, so Caocao, the leader of Wei was written to be a bad person. First, although he was the Prime Minister of Han, he actually controlled the Emperor of Han and was preparing to build his own government. Second, he killed too many people that shouldn’t have been killed. Third, his personality was too strange.
