The storytelling contest

This Tuesday we had a storytelling contest. Almost all of us felt nervous before it began. But when it began, it seemed not as hard as I had ever thought.
We began the contest according to the names list that arranged by the first letter of our names. The 1st was our monitor. He did a good job, which made me feel a bit release, not as difficult as I thought. Then the contest continued, and soon it was my turn. Yes! Come on! Time to show! I said to myself to encourage myself. When I began, I did it as planned, but nervous was unavoidable, I did a bit wrong in my story, so, as a result, I said to all that sorry, let me have some time to control my feeling. And I refreshed myself during the little time. Then I continued my story. When I finished, I felt a release on my nerve. It was over. Not as tough as you thought.
At about 12, the contest was over. Then we knew our scores. To my surprise, my score was a little lower than I had ever thought. When I read what the teacher had written on my paper, I knew what the shortcoming in my essay was. I would correct it in the future.
From this contest, I knew that the result was not the most important point when you joined in a game or a match. The process of your attendance was the matter. As we all knew, usually there was one winner of a game, if everyone was the winner, and then there was no winner. So the process of your attendance was the important point in your life. Enjoy yourself and have fun through it. I remember I had a classmate whose willing of win was so strong. At first, we played basketball together. But sometimes later, we find his willing of win was so strong that we all did not want to play with him anymore. In a nutshell, I think almost every games or matches we take part in are for fun, not win. But if you win, it’s good, isn’t it? I like this storytelling contest. It is helpful and useful in our English learning.

  2. It's not easy and it takes a lot of practice to speak freely in front of a large audience, but there will definitely be a day when you can speak to a lot of people without feeling nervous.
Speaking has become increasingly important now and you can always convey your ideas clearly and impress your audience if you have the skills. Keep on practicing.
