I still remember the great opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games. When the huge footprints of fireworks glowed in the sky of our capital, when the sweet song YOU AND ME flowed into our souls, when the cheers of people from all over the world boiled the whole nation, I was deeply moved. I truly believe that harmony and love will be the everlasting themes of human beings!
On May, 12th, 2008, the world saw a terrible disaster in China. And a great people has been moved to fight a great calamity. Hundreds of millions of people have lent their helping hands, showing their unselfish love to their suffering fellows. You and me, the survivers and those who suffered, have their hearts connected, giving each other a strong will. The earthquake can shake the frame of houses and buildings, but it cannot touch the frame of China’s foundation, it can ruin cities and villages, but it cannot ruin Chinese people’s determination!
As members of the young generation, we are not able to change the world at present. But if everyone takes action, we can make a difference. Well, my dear fellow students, what do you think of others who are around you and will share your happiness and sorrow? If you treat them sincerely and love those who care for you, your beautiful soul will be shining like the sun and light up people’s hearts. Then you’ll understand the word “harmony” and enjoy what it brings to you.
Today although the shadow of wars is still shrouding the world, although our world hasn’t become the Garden of Eden, yet, my friends, please have faith in our future, as an old song goes: we are the world, we are the children and we will make a brighter day just you and me!
