New Year’s Eve

This is the first lunar New Year I have spent outside home. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like before. I wondered whether I would be seriously homesick then. But how time flew, this day finally came.
We were noticed to go to NTU to spend New Year’s Eve with seniors and schoolmates, which had become a tradition so far. Excitedly we started off at 1 o’clock. After a long journey we arrived in NTU in the end. All our seniors and schoolmates gathered together there, which meant a union like a family.
We played a few of games such as ice-breaking games and some games with strict punishment. One of them was that every group should pick out 4 people, 3 of whom would drink cola, but the rest one would drink soy sauce. Everyone should pretend to have drunk cola to confuse enemies so as to win the game. You should know how great he was when he was drinking soy sauce with a satisfied face.
At 5 o’clock we began to make dumplings. Only few of us had learnt how to do it, so we made dumplings at the same time of learning how to. After about 3 hours’ effort, some beautiful dumplings came from beautiful senior sisters, however, ugly ones came from us, luckily they were also allowed to be cooked ,otherwise ,dumplings wouldn’t be enough .That was a really DIY dinner that we all enjoyed it.
At 8 o’clock, the evening party of CCTV began. All of us watched it joyfully, but what frustrated us heavily was that we waited to about 11 o’clock until the words “Embassy of China in Singapore wishes all Chinese happy new year!” appeared on TV, that moment, all of us cheered up!
Then the bell rang, New Year came!
We enjoyed a good dream that night and when we woke up, all returned to usual, lovely sunshine, slight wind, birds’ singing. But New Year has come indeed!
